Job Description:
Assess, diagnose, screen and prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients;
Administer hearing screenings or speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to patients to
collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written or oral tests or special instruments;
Design, develop, or employ alternative diagnostic or communication devices or strategies; Communicate
with patients and collaborate with their family members, physicians, occupational therapist, physical
therapists and teachers to design effective treatment plans; Monitor, record, and evaluate patient progress
and implement changes to therapy programs accordingly; Use evidence-based treatment techniques to
provide best care; Document all patient encounters using electronic medical record to ensure effective communication between colleagues, physicians, providers and patients’ family members or caregivers.
Min. Requirements:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field. 36 months
of experience as Speech-Language Pathologist, Speech Therapist. Active Speech-Language Pathologist
License from the Washington State Department of Health. Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in
Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Valid WA State
Driver's License. 36 months of experience in providing speech language evaluation and treatment service
for children under 9 years of age. Travel within Spokane County (same county as the place of
employment) about 2-4 times a week, as needed.
Salary and Benefits:
$69,722/year - $70,200/year (Full time. Position in Spokane Valley, WA). Med+dental, PTO vac/personal+sick+holiday, 401K, profit sharing, cont’d Ed. budget, paid lic. & ASHA dues, mileage & phone reimbursement.
